Fake Tax Forms

Are you ready? No one looks forward to paying taxes, but it is a part of life and you have 30 days to get it done. Getting prepared in advance can make the tax process a little simpler, but first – a warning – if you do need to download IRS tax forms, do so from the official IRS website. There are hundreds of websites that look official but are not. Use www.irs.gov and no other or you might just be giving away ALL your personal info including your social security number.

BTW – YDST tipster Page G put together a helpful list for you if you still need to do your taxes:

  • Social security number for yourself, spouse, and any dependents
  • W-2
  • Statements from your bank such as for IRA contributions or mortgage payments
  • The amount of last year’s refund
  • Records of any other income you’ve had for the year
  • Receipts for medical expenses that weren’t reimbursed by insurance
  • Receipts from charitable donations
  • Property tax receipts
  • And, if you are not comfortable filing your taxes on your own, there is nothing wrong with asking for help. You can hire an accountant or use legitimate software such as TurboTax. #affiliatelink
