Go outside, feel the sun on your skin, listen to birdsong, and put your feet in the grass. However you do it, communing with nature has been shown to have health benefits, ranging from reduction in stress levels to lowering inflammation to increasing vitamin D. This world-wide phenomenon is showing up in Japanese Forest Bathing and Hygge and it’s slowly making waves in the U.S. Oh, and when you go outside, leave your phone inside. Please.
